Immerse yourself in the vibrant spring bloom of South Africa’s West Coast on this 5-day journey, combining wildflower valleys, indigenous culture, highland farms, and mountain vistas. From Khoisan storytelling and ancient rock art to fynbos tea tastings and scenic river valleys, each day celebrates nature, heritage, and local flavors. Ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and travellers seeking a relaxed, off-the-beaten-path adventure.

Depart Cape Town and head north along the coast to !Khwa ttu, where San and Khoi guides share their ancient traditions, language, and connection to the land.

Enjoy lunch at the on-site restaurant before continuing to the West Coast National Park. Stroll through the Postberg section (flower season only), where wildflowers paint the coastal landscape in dazzling colors.

Overnight: Citrusdal

After breakfast, ascend the Piekenierskloof Plateau for a Rooibos tea tasting and farm tour at a working fynbos flower farm. Discover how this indigenous tea is grown and sample unique blends from the Cederberg foothills.

Visit a citrus packhouse in the valley to see Citrusdal’s famous export industry in action (seasonal), then enjoy scenic views over the Olifants River Valley.

Overnight: Citrusdal

Depart early for the Biedouw Valley, one of the Cederberg’s most spectacular wildflower destinations.

Stop at Traveller’s Rest, a peaceful riverside spot near ancient rock art trails, for lunch and exploration. Continue to Clanwilliam to visit the historic Flower Church and Ramskop Wildflower Garden, home to over 350 indigenous species.

Travel onward to Vanrhynsdorp for check-in at Letsatsi Lodge.

Overnight: Letsatsi Lodge

After breakfast, drive over the majestic Vanrhyns Pass into Nieuwoudtville, renowned for its springtime bulbs and Namaqualand daisies.

Explore Matjiesfontein Flower Farm and visit the Hantam National Botanical Garden, a key biodiversity site managed by SANBI. Return to Letsatsi Lodge for a final evening amid the Northern Cape landscapes.

Overnight: Letsatsi Lodge

Begin the journey back to Cape Town with a stop at Bokkomlaan in Velddrif, a charming fishing village known for birdwatching along the Berg River and its traditional bokkom (dried fish) culture.

If time allows, make one last flower stop at Postberg in the West Coast National Park before returning to Cape Town by late afternoon.
